Swiss Days

I haven't posted in few days because I have been going thru what I consider a crisis. Conner isn't sleeping well and screams every time we get him near his bed. Some of you may have gotten frantic phone calls from me wondering what to do. Sorry about that...when it comes to Conner's sleep I get nuts if things get off routine. He NEVER cries when we put him to bed, so hearing him scream just tears me apart.

Moving on...here are our pictures from Swiss Days. It is Monson family tradition every Labor Day to stay at my grandparent's house in Midway and go to Swiss days (specifically for the scones.) It is the only fun thing to look forward to when Summer is ending. We have been doing this since I was a little girl, and every year it gets more and more popular and more and more CROWDED. It's almost overwhelming to go because of the crowds. It used to be our little secret but now it seems the whole state of Utah shows up.

Me and my Madre...people find it difficult to believe we aren't the same age. She is actually quite a bit older than me :)

Here I am with Conner, can you tell I was excited? I am wearing my Swiss Days shirt and did my hair like the little swiss girls do.

Here is my mom holding one of the famous, wonderful, delicious scones. I think I ate a total of FOUR of these over the weekend. Grosse huh? But I had to enjoy it since it will be a year till we get them again.

Me and my cousin Jeff. I love him.

There were tears in my eyes but none were spilled!

If you have seen Conner lately you may have noticed that he has had quite a head of hair on his cute mug. But after much back and forth Corey and I decided to bite the bullet and get Conner his first hair cut.
There is this darling place called Cookie Cutters where they specialise in doing kids hair cuts. I will never go anywhere else, it was fantastic. They had all sorts of neat seats for the kids like motorcycles and air planes and cars and then they have little tvs right in front of the kid and you can choose what they can watch. He LOVES LOVES LOVES Elmo so of course we chose to put Elmo on. It was the easiest thing ever.
Not only that but they gave me a lock of his hair to keep and the hair cut looks fantastic. I was so scared they would take away all his baby hair and he would have no more of his curls (which we love) but it turned out great, he looks just tidied up but still has his cute curls.
Enjoy the pics!

Kay so I admit this is a little over due...

Finished product, perfect! Not too short and not too long. LOVE IT!

twenty questions

1. What do you want right this minute? Financial Freedome!
2. If you were a boxer, what would your ring name be? Corey said it would be "Boxey"
3. Would you rather be perfect from the waist up or the waist down? Waist up
4. Would you rather meet Oprah or Ellen? Oprah I really like her most the time
5. Have you ever had Gonorrhea? I don't know what that is. But thanks to Grey's Anatomy I like to refer to the quote "He has the Syph!" "He has the Syph!" ha ha ha
6. What does your favorite pair of underwear look like? They all look the same.
7. What’s one thing you’re afraid of? Man I am afraid of a lot of things. I am afraid of crowds...but I would say most of my fears revolve around Conner nowadays. I'm afraid of doing something wrong in his upbringing to damage him in any way.
8. If you could be reincarnated as someone/something, what would you pick? I have always wished I was Peter Pan.
9. Who is your least favorite actor? OMG if I see my husband watching Myth Busters I want to scream and jump out of a window that is how much I hate the cast of that show.
10. Do you ever have recurring dreams? No not really
12. Do you like reality TV? Loves it
13. Are you happy right now? YEP I got to work in the yard today in the sun

15. What would you do if you were locked in a room with your worst enemy for 3 days? Probably end up making up with them
16. Were you popular in high school? Ya but not like a cheerleader or anything.
17. What did you want to be when you were little, and did you follow that dream? I wanted to be lots of different things. I always wanted to be a wife and a mother, so in that area I have become my wish. But I have always wanted to go to hair school and still have not acomplished that goal. I hope to still one day do it.
18. What’s one of your favorite quotes? "Prayer can change the night to day"
19. What is one of your weaknesses? ONE??????????? Oh man I can't even begin. Probably my tendency to worry too much and the fact that I am tired more than the average person. Those are my two most shameful weaknesses.
20. Do you see the glass as half empty or half full? Depends on if I have had a nap yet that day.
Oh, and I tag all of my fellow bloggers to answer this on their blog.

Spokane Trip

Most of you will yawn looking at the bagillions of pictures I have here from our trip to Spokane, but I just had to put them all on here. We had a great time, it was one of the longest trips we have ever taken. We were there for six days. As people closest to me know, I get home sick very bad so that was one problem I had while there but if I had to be away from my own home being at Corey's parents home would be second best! A huge thank you to Claci for letting Conner use her room as well as Chris and Sylvia for letting us use there room as well

Conner fell asleep on the plane. What a gift.

The guys just chatting...
Kay so I don't know if all of you know this or not, but Conner Loves, and when I say Loves I mean obsession/maddness/addiction kind of love, for LAWN MOWERS. When we first got to Chris and Sylvia's we took him outside to see the riding lawn mower and he wouldn't get off of the thing for over two hours. We tried to take him off and he went balistic so we all got chairs and just sat around him for a couple hours talking while he sat on the lawn mower. Man o man.

Then the "Nenny" (Kennady) came over and the fun really began. The biggest reason for us visiting Spokane was for these two to spent time together. I don't want to get overly emotional, but I believe whole-heartedly that these two are kindred spirits and were together in heaven and will always be best friends. They get along so well together and whenever Kennady wasn't around Conner would look around the whole house saying "Nenny?" "Nenny?"

The Con man and mom on the lawn mower. You can't see it here, but he actually kicked me off of it. He wouldn't even let me sit with him on it. He was so posessive of it.
Corey got to spend some time with his best friend Cameron while we were in town. Usually we are in town so shortly that we don't get to really spend time with him, but this time we did and look what they decided to do...go jump off a bridge they used to jump off together when they were kids. They are so funny together. And yes, they did jump. It was very funny for me to watch!
Best buddies coloring at dinner.
This WOULD be a cute picture but if you look close Corey is not very "into" the kiss, he is looking at his phone or something. Hmmmm I sure feel special. jk
Better
My kiddos. I love them both.

So if you ever want to see Laurie turn her frown upside down, bring out some wax and let her wax everyone in the families eye brows. Oh the joy. I haven't been that happy and excited in I don't know how long.
I also did Corey's, Cameron's, Claci's, Sylvia's and even Chris'...but I think they ended up on Melissa's camera.
no explaination needed...

Kay so is this not the most beautiful picture (girl) you have ever seen? Cody and I got in a fight debating who took the prettiest picture of her. Mine wins....
Goofy
Better, I love my husband's smile.
kay here is a funny story...look at Cindy's glass of rootbeer.
Now look... clueless as ever.
Funniest thing EVER. She didn't even notice, but Corey put five packets of coffee creamer in her rootbeer while she wasn't looking. She is so sweet and innocent and I was laughing so hard because I kept telling her that a spider was behind her so Corey could put another packet of creamer in, and then she would look and not find it and I would say "Oh it was just the weird pattern of the seat behind you." She kept drinking not even noticing any difference! OH MY GOSH it was the funniest thing in the world. Haven't laughed that hard in a year.

SILVER MOUNTAIN INDOOR WATER PARK! If you haven't been you should. It's amazing.

I love Corey's little sisters Claci and Cindy. They are so cute with Conner and Kennady. Conner even learned to say "Claci" while we were there. The morning we were leaving he went around the house searching and calling "Claci" because it was time for pancakes. I adore my sisters in law.

Sisters. Me and Missa!
Brothers and Dad, getting up the guts to do the surf wave pool. Now please don't judge, the boys have all been very busy trying to get their careers started and are not in the physical shape they used to be in!! :)
Corey was really good at it. He loved it. He and Cody did it non stop from four o'clock till eight o'clock when they closed.
Dad even did it....and he was great too!

Me and my boy
Dad again
The next day at Silver Mountain we went on the World's Longest Gondola. It was so fun sleeping over in the condos there. I wish I had taken some pictures to show you how amazing our rooms were.

In the Gondola...Corey looks like he is on happy drugs haha

I love my little family.
The drink off!!! All week long these two kids were trading sippy cups left and right. It's always greener on the other side right?
"Haha I got them both.... "
At the top of the mountain they had some fun outdoor toys for the kids.

Bros

We talked Chris and Sylvia into letting us go out alone with Cody and Melissa and have them watch both the kids. Cody and Miss have a favorite resteraunt called The White House that we went to. It was sooo much fun. Finally a date night together with no kids. When we got home both kids were in grandma and grandpas arms fast asleep.

I love my sister in law Melissa. We are best budds. We shared a lot of secrets this week and she knows she better keep her mouth shut about mine or I will spill my guts about all of hers hehe jk
