WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY JOURNAL

Saturday, June 28, 2008

I just have to say, don't these two look like they could be brothers? Both blue eyes and long blonde hair. So cute. (This is Cade, my friend Brie's son by the way)

If you look closely, you will notice something odd in this picture....don't ask:).... And no, it's not mine! :)

Golf Golf Golf, what can I say?

Well in the Summer, our lives kinda revolve around Golf. This year my game is struggling (not that it was ever great) so I have given Corey the go ahead to go without me more often this year, but here you can see one of our golfing days. Corey's brother Chris and cousin Nick came along! Have you ever noticed how golfing makes for lots of time for interesting conversation? I'll just leave it at that okay?

THIS PICTURE IS FOR MY FRIEND BRIE, SHE KNOWS WHY...

Catching up

So much going on and not enough time to blog! Since I use this blog as a family journal of sorts here are tons of pictures sorry if it seems excessive! Just bare with me.

Jace and Conner are the very best of friends. Here they are sharing a ride in the grocery cart. Whoever invented a grocery cart shaped like a car was genious. Now all they need is to make the grocery carts with a freaking cup holder for my diet coke! ahhhhh so frustrating!

Sunday nights at Grandma and Grandpas are especially fun in the Summer. We love to sit out on the patio and visit.
Conner is obsessed with Grandma Monson's cane.

Wheeler Farm- My Favorite Place

There is this place called Wheeler Farm where I love to take Conner early in the morning so we can go on our walk and see the animals eating their breakfast before all the crowds get there. Its so beautiful in the morning.

We went to visit Dad at work, here is Conner with Corey's telephone on. He looks like a pilot.

I love my Grandma more than words can say.

Irony of a hair product junkie

So I was thinking today how ironic it is that I have so many hair products but I almost never do my hair. I do my hair like once a week at the most...99% of the time I just throw it in a pony tail.

June

Corey had a birthday on June 4th, so here we are at Texas Roadhouse Grill with my parents and Chris.

We then came back to our house to open presents.
It had been a VERY rainy day, so to entertain "Conner-the-outside-kid," I blew up balloons to decorate the house with. It's amazing what your mind can come up with when you are desperate to entertain your child.

My best friend Ashley moved to Ephraim last week (I still can't really talk about it without crying so lets just not talk about it okay?) and we got together with our friend Kelli who was visiting from New York and got a picture. Sad day for the Laur, it was half way annoying because I had already had my horrible emotional good bye with Ashley a couple days prior and then I had to say good bye to her all over again. I HATE goodbyes, who wants to do it twice?
Kelli and Ashley and I met as newlyweds in our first ward and have stayed close ever since. I am so lucky to have them in my life.

Next to that bath seat thing that we use when we give Conner a bath, this is the second best baby-must-have so far. Here Corey is vacuuming with Conner on his back, he has also washed both the cars with Conner on his back and today he actually mowed the lawn with Conner on his back. Conner LOVES it!!!
We can't wait to take him hiking and actually use it for what it was made for :)

Friday Fill In

I took this from Kristy's blog, feel free to steal it from me :)

1. Idle hands are something to be ashamed of??
2. I love to fold laundry and watch a movie or TV with Corey after Conner is in bed.
3. My favorite time of the day is Conner's morning nap when I usually nap too!
4. The last tea I drank was, probably that green tea weight loss stuff, holy cow made me feel like I was going to have a heart attack. How could anyone drink that stuff regularly? Talk about anxiety attack!
5. I like to have Red Mango vanilla ice cream with blue berries, rasberries, and graham cracker.
6. My mother always said to marry someone who is nice to their mother.
7. And as for the weekend, nothing special, this gloomy weather has pretty much ruined my life.

Friends in town (you have to watch the video at the end!!)

Our dear friends Greg and Kelli are here vising from New York! They have a little girl named Addi who is a little over a month younger than Conner.
They had so much fun playing together and Corey and I had so much fun catching up with Kel and Greg.

Conner's first time swimming!

Me and my friend Megan took Conner for his first time to a swimming pool. We had tons o' fun.

In Megan's parent's Condo, exploring!

Look what I woke up to this morning...

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN MY FACE THIS MORNING WHEN I FOUND ALL OF THESE IN MY FLOWER GARDENS. I wanted to say many a fowl word as I gathered them all up in this can so I could freak out Corey when he got home from work.
Can you even believe all these were in my gardens this morning? I wanted to just murder them all! Which I guess I have now because they ate the snil killer I put out last night when I noticed -some- snails...not the freaking whole snail population of Salt Lake City! Ahhhhhhh

update

My mom and I surprised my dad at work with Conner on his birthday.

Conner and Cara, sadly I won't be tending Cara anymore on Fridays, her mom (my dear friend Traci, has decided to work from home so she can be with her darling little girl more). Conner really liked Cara, he found her absolutely irresistable and she quite liked him too!

Dad and a boy! I think this is on our way to Snoasis, yep it just opened, four times a week during the summer here we come. (for those of you who don't know, Snoasis is this delicious snow cone shack by our house. The lines are huge but well worth the wait)
