First Easter

This was Conner's first Easter, it was so much fun. I can't wait till next Easter when he is a little older and can understand things even better.
We went to church in the morning and then later went to my mom and dad's to eat with my grandpa and grandma Rhodehouse, Corey's brother Chris, our friend Megan, and my parents. My mom cooked a delicious meal, as usual, and then we enjoyed easter baskets!
As you can see, the highlight of the day for Conner was the balloon my parents got for him.

Corey and his brother, just chillin.

Megs and Conner

Grandma and Grandpa Rhodehouse

Conner got a mini golf set from Grandma for Easter.

Corey can get Conner to stand sometimes!

Some Jazz, and some Buddies

Me and Ash decided we needed a night out without the kids. So we went to the Jazz Game and had lots-o-fun.

Corey and Larv

Little John was at the Game! How funny. "WhAt?"

Emma Smith-My Story

Last night Corey and I went to a screening of the new movie, Emma Smith, My Story. I think it comes out on April 11th, anyone who has the chance needs to go see this movie. I know it sounds extreme, but I feel like this movie changed my life.
Any mother who has to lose six children to death brings me to my knees in humility.
There is so much I didn't know about this amazing woman, I can't believe the obstacles in life that she endured. She is truly my hero.

ORLANDO

On the bus ride from the airport to the hotel! Getting pretty dang excited!

First night in Orlando, dinner on the beach.

Still first night, walked over to Universal Studios to watch fireworks show.

Our Hotel...The Swan and Dolphin Resort

Second Day in Orlando

On the second day we went to Universal Studios Island of Adventure...I just had to post a picture of the Hulk, the roller coaster that almost ended my life. Freakiest experience of my life, I am surprised I was able to avoid peeing my pants.

Third Day in Orlando

On our third day we went to MGM Studios, for those of you who don't know what that is, its mostly shows that show how movies are made. For example we went to a muppet 3-d show (which i slept thru) and we went to a water show and a car show that showed how car stunts are done in movies, and an Indiana Jones show (which I also slept thru) which showed how fight scenes are done etc.
The coolest experience at this part was the Tower of Terror, its a huge "hotel" that is basically an elevator shaft that drops you. It was very scary but a must see.

That evening we had our closing dinner for Corey's work. Apparently it was mardi gras so everyone was drunk off their butt and had beads around their necks. A giant guy on stilts gave me some beads to wear.
Corey and I enjoyed sobriety as we downed our diet cokes and observed all the drunken maddness.
We did enjoy drinking our diet cokes in the Bob Marley club tho...

Golfing please

Corey and I are getting desperate to start golfing again. I got Corey this golfing net for our back yard for Valentines Day.
Don't mind all the crap in our back yard, my dad came over the other day and pruned our apple tree. We now need to hire someone to come take it all away...

Book Review #6? Can't remember.

Enthusiasm
by Polly Shulman

I give Enthusiasm a B+. Great book. My aunt Patty recommended it to me and if Patty says it is good then it is good. She is an English major and has read everything!
This book is a spin off of Pride and Predjudice but the best part of it is how funny and refreshing it is. My favorite character was Ash, the best friend of the main character, Julia. Ash is obsessed with Jane Austin novels and speaks entirely in Jane Austin lingo. It's so freaking hilarious. She even calls her best friend's mom, "Ms. Lethgowitz." Its just a nice little romantic comedy and the dialogue is just great. You are kept guessing until the very end who the "Mr. Darcy" of the story is, but if you are like me you sorta know what is gonna happen.
Anyway this is the quickest read ever and it really was so refreshing since I have been reading exclusively and constantly mysteries or drama for the past couple years.

A nerve racking day

Well I did it...something I have always wanted to do...I saved up my money...and I took the plunge. I got my teeth lazer whitened.
It's called Zoom bleaching and it just so happened that my girlfriend Steph's dad is a dentist who offers this procedure.
I can't describe to you my TERROR while anticipating this experience. I made the mistake of reading all about it online and hearing horror story after horror story describing it as being "worse than labor" and causing ulcers inside the mouth and shocks called "zinggers" that were so terrible it brought you to your knees.
Turns out it was easy as a wink and it was less "painful" than even getting your teeth cleaned.
Thanks to my friend Steph for lots and lots of pep talks trying to calm me down and also a HUGE thanks to her for watching Conner for me while I had it done.Conner and Steph playing around the dentist office waiting for Mom.

So as some of you know Conner learned a new word this week. BALL. He says is so well and right on contact when we ask him to say it. He has fallen in love with balls and plays with them all the time (along with his trucks you see here.)

Here is Conner saying his other word (other than Mama and Dada) "Uh Oh"
More of Conner and his mop...

One of the best .89 cents I have EVER spent. Conner spends tons of time playing with these refridgerator magnents. Yessssss!

Some fun with Cousins. Ashley as always posing like the perfect beauty queen.

Rules of Men (I stole this from my friend Whit, its good)

Rules of Men

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the men in our lives. Please note.. these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!
1. Men ARE not mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport...and no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work!Strong hints do not work!Obvious hints do not work!Just say it!
1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
1. Come to us with a problem only If you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.
1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 Days.
1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.
1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.
1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.
1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.
1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.
1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine...really.
1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or golf.
1. You have enough clothes.
1. You have too many shoes.
1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

A very acomplished ten month old

Some of Conner's newest things:
1. Can play peekaboo like a champ. You ask "Where's Conner?" and he immediately throws his hands onto his eyes and then takes them away so you will say "peekaboo!"
2. Laurie taught him how to throw balls and how to play on the floor and roll the ball back and fourth with someone.
3. He can do the "more" sign when he wants more drink or more food or pretty much more of anything.
4. He says "Uh Oh" when something drops off his highchair or something falls.
He likes to go over to the tub and push his toys into the tub and say, "Uh Oh."
It's the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life.

More pics soon hopefully
xoxo
