Wedding day number 1

Last weekend we went to Washington for Corey's little sister's wedding. It was beautiful and we had a ton of fun. One of the best parts was to have Conner and his cousin Kennady spend time together. Kennady and Conner were born the same week and share a very special bond. Kennady was born three months premature and we definitely feel like they were meant to come down to earth together. We had such a great time.
Conner was enthralled with Kennady's chair. He would just sink into it and relax. I hate to admit it but I might need to get him one.

The night before the wedding Claci's friends came to take her out on some kind of bachelorette outing.

Still the first day...watch out, there are a lot of pictures of Conner with a guitar.

Wedding Dinner, Conner and Kennady!
These two are trouble! I love it!

Reception

We had a lot of fun at Claci's reception. I won't lie it was VERY difficult to relax and enjoy when you have a two year old running around all over the place... but we snuck in some fun along with the pie we devoured.

Here you see the graceful Cody Kunz.

And here you see the graceful brothers dancing their little hearts out. SHOWING OFF is more like it!

Me and Miss doing some mooooooooooves.

The ladies. Left to right: Miss (Cody's wife), Claci, Me, and Cindy at the bottom.

The men in my life. The only thing that even matters is these two faces.

Me and my sister in law Melissa. We are very good friends and love to talk talk talk and share secrets while watching desperate housewives. Ha Ha what a pair we are right?!

random trip photos

Some final random pictures from the trip.

So funny story... We stayed with Cody and Melissa while we were there and sadly they didn't have an ironing board at the time. So we were using the kitchen table as an ironing board. BUT here is the funny thing. Right before we were headed to bed I see Cody over at the couch using the back of his hand tapping all over his shirt. I looked at him in complete confusion (and maybe a little piteously) and when he and Melissa saw the way I was looking at them they quickly told me that Cody was using clear tape to get the lint off of his shirt.
I thought he had decided not to even attempt the iron and was thinking if he flattened out his shirt enough with his hand that it wouldn't be wrinkled. It was so funny.

Trips are hard because sleep and naps and any kind of schedule at all go OUT THE WINDOW!

The two kiddos after their bath. You might not notice, but this was also right after Conner tripped and busted his lip open. It's one thing after another with this kid!

For those who might not know, Corey broke his back when he was in 8th grade in a go-cart accident. He has struggled on and off ever since. Luckily he is going thru a pretty good streak right now. But here you can see him trying out his dad's machine of some kind that helps your back.

Okay so here is another contraption that my husband is using for his back. This family has back problems as you can infer.

ASHLEY PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE DON'T GET MAD AT ME!
It's Tommy's fault, he got me this hat, its not my fault! I am not abandoning the Red Socks I promise.
Tommy looks worn out in this picture, poor guy had a migraine.
Old schooooooooool. Corey and I did some hot wiring and got the old nintendo to work at my mom's. It was like the funnest thing EVER. I had to get up and turn it off tho because I was getting panic attacks trying not to die.
My mom sent me some old pictures from her camera, these are from Valentines Day.
Here is another one of my mom's fun holiday gift bags for Conner.

Juleen decorated Tommy's room for Valentines Day and we blew up, I don't know, like a hundred balloons. Of course Conner loved it.

Conner and Tommy on Valentines Day after Tommy found his surprise!

Conner loves to take things out of my mom's cabinets and the other day we all looked over and saw him stacking the soups and mac and cheese! I was watching in amazement at how many he got stacked up before they tipped over! As you can see he thought he would also put his magnetic letters on top just to add just a little more acomplishment!

I haven't had much to blog about lately, but today is St. Patricks Day and of course my mom delivered as she always does and brought Con a little gift. Balloons and a green bag full of a green coloring book, a green book about tractors, and some green treats. Thanks Mom you rock.

Con has been doing this late night giggling thing. It is so freaking fun, but it has caused bedtime to be a little delayed the past few evenings. Here he is at it again, this time going nuts with Corey late at night.
It started out fine, just a nice little bed time story...
And then it got a little crazy...
And then things got way too crazy...but what can you do? You gotta let a boy have some bonding time with his daddy!

Five Year Anniversary

Seven Years ago, Friday, October 4, 2002 I met Corey for the first time. I know it sounds trite, but we have sincerely been in love ever since that day. And now, as of today, we have been married for five years!
Things have not always been perfect, but we count ourselves blessed to have a very solid, fun, and loving marriage.
There is nothing that Corey would not do for me. He is the hardest working, most ambitious, charismatic man I have ever known. He also knows every single thing about me. Every. Single. Thing. And some how he loves me anyway. Thanks for being my husband honey, I'm yours forever. Love Laurie
COREY'S CORNER:
Five years of great marriage takes work for sure. I believe with no hesitation that the hardest things to accomplish in life will always make the happiest moments in life.
Marriage is one of those hard things that brings the very happiest moments. Unfortunaly, the opposite is just as true for a lot of people.
We had a great time on our anniversary date night. The food was amazing, and I have always enjoyed driving up the canyon to Park City.
As we watch TV at 1 am, I think of the words written by the best rocker of all times. "You make me feel like a kid again, you do my friend. To the end, I will love you always."
5 years of love and understanding. Not to mention the best gift ever, our boy Conner. I am ready for many more anniversaries to come, however, the thought of skipping the "diamond aniversarary" has crossed my mind, but there is no way Lauren would let me get out of that one!!!
Beyond these things, Lauren has been the largest factor of success in my life, she has been my cheerleader, my doctor when I am sick, my business partner, and many more things. Lauren has been nothing short of the best dream I have ever had. Love Corey

Kay so my hair did actually look good when the night started but we went out and I tried on some clothes and it took its toll. We went to The Roof for dinner after going up to Park City to shop for a few thing we needed. It was one of the first times we have been out shopping together without Conner in a very long time.
It was a wonderful night. Just wonderful.

Here we are, about six years ago when we were dating. Life had never been so grand!

WEIRD but GOOD

So thanks to my cous Betsie, Conner has been doing the raddest thing. Right before bed he'll sit and watch a little bit of a show and eat....kay are you ready for this, FROZEN PEAS. Bets had told me about this when they were here a few weeks ago. Her son Jadon was eating frozen fruit before bed and Conner wanted in on the fun, and LOVED IT... So she mentioned to me that she also does it for him with frozen peas. I thought there was no way my son would eat a vegetable, but guess what, frozen sure does the trick. Each night before bed he loves to eat frozen peas! I couldn't be happier seeing as I haven't been able to implement a very good diet for my child. Mac and Cheese, Pop Corn and Nutragrain Bars are about all he consists of. NOW PEAS. I mean, now that he eats peas I pretty much don't care what else he eats. I feel like such a freaking rad mom I mean I pretty much rock! My kid eats vegetables!

You gotta check this place out

Ash and I took the kids to Discovery Gateway on Monday. It was amazing and Conner LOVED it to say the least. It is similar to the Children's Museum that I went to when I was little, but better. It was no surprise that Conner spent the majority of the time in the water park area, and it was also no surprise that his shirt was drenched by the end of our trip!

Conner, Jace, and Mylee.

Notice. Wet. Shirt.

These pictures don't do this place any justice, this ball apparatus went all around up in the ceiling. Conner and Jace loved putting the balls in this vacuum thingy.

Giant Xylophone

There was even a life size helicopter (at least it seemed life size?)
This was my favorite thing, there was a little tree house with this mini home with mini chairs and everything.
This was so cool, the kids could make the crane actually lift blocks and put them on the building.

There was also a farm area and a grocery store and some other awesome things! If you have little kids you need to check this place out!
